Why this matters now

Closing the gap between what we know and what we deliver

Across sub-Saharan Africa, healthcare institutions are deeply committed to delivering high-quality care. Yet too often, quality is approached through assurance and accreditation alone — while the deeper work of continuous, system-driven improvement remains underdeveloped.

The result is a persistent gap between what we know and what is consistently delivered at the bedside. Preventable harm — from infections to medication errors — continues to occur, not because of a lack of expertise or guidelines, but due to weak systems that fail to reliably translate knowledge into practice.

At ACQUIRE, we have learned that sustainable improvement happens closest to where care is delivered — at the frontline. It is at this level that problems are most visible, solutions are most practical, and change can happen in real time.

…but frontline change must be enabled, supported, and sustained by leadership.

The opportunity

Aligning leadership with frontline change

The ACQUIRE C-Suite QI-PS Experiential Leadership Course brings together CEOs and senior leaders from institutions whose frontline teams have already engaged in ACQUIRE's QI-PS experiential journey. These teams are actively testing and implementing changes to improve care. The role of leadership, therefore, is not to initiate improvement — but to recognize it, prioritize it, support it, remove barriers, and create the conditions for it to scale and sustain.

This is not a traditional training. It is a peer-driven, experiential learning journey where leaders engage with real institutional challenges, learn from one another, and strengthen their ability to support improvement at the point of care.
