Improving uptake of GBV services among GBV survivors through continuous Quality improvement in Mosoriot Sub-County Hospital.
The Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) project at Mosoriot Sub-County Hospital aimed to enhance the uptake of Gender-Based Violence (GBV) services among survivors. The project involved a retrospective cohort analysis, sensitization of healthcare workers, and restructuring of triage and screening processes. Pre-CQI data revealed low utilization, with less than 5% of survivors seeking services. Post-CQI results demonstrated significant improvements, including increased reporting of GBV cases, enhanced screening, and better uptake of post-exposure prophylaxis (PEP) and emergency contraceptive pills (ECP). Stakeholder involvement, education, and a robust referral system were identified as key factors contributing to the project’s success.
