In February 2024, the African Consortium for Quality Improvement in Frontline Healthcare (ACQUIRE), in partnership with the Institute for Healthcare Improvement (IHI), offered a virtual basic quality and safety certification to licensed healthcare professionals working in Africa. The comprehensive IHI Open School curriculum encompasses a range of pertinent topics vital for today’s healthcare workforce, including quality improvement, patient safety, and health equity. The attainment of the IHI Basic Certificate in Quality and Safety represents a globally recognized credential of proficiency.
The first cohort of Cohort 1 Theory commenced on February 29th, 2024, as over 200 individuals from 40 institutes across Africa embarked on a transformative journey by enrolling as the inaugural participants of the ACQUIRE-IHI Basic Certificate Course. Following the completion of 13 courses and 17.75 hours of dedicated study, we extend a hearty congratulations to the 155 individuals who successfully completed Cohort 1 theory.
